The enclosure includes removable drive trays, dual 40x20 mm cooling fans with a 3-speed control, LED drive activity indicators, individual drive ID labels, and support for 15-pin SATA power cables with locking latches. An optional adapter (MB705M2P-B) can convert an M.2 NVMe SSD to U.2 form factor for use in the trays.

How to use

Install the enclosure into a 5.25" front bay of your chassis and connect each OCuLink (SFF-8612) cable to the host controller. Insert U.2/U.3 NVMe SSDs into the removable trays and secure them with screws; the trays then slide into the enclosure from the front for convenient access. Connect the required 15-pin SATA power cables with locking latches and set the fan speed using the 3-speed control on the rear panel. If using a Tri-Mode controller, note that the enclosure supports NVMe drives only; SAS/SATA drives are not supported in NVMe mode.

Recommendations

Use PCIe 4.0-capable host controllers and certified OCuLink (SFF-8612) cables to achieve the full 64 Gb/s per bay. For sustained heavy workloads, select a higher fan speed and ensure adequate chassis airflow.
