The EFB Elektronik O7013.2 is a 2 m ST–to–ST fibre optic patch cable in turquoise, designed for structured cabling per ISO/IEC 11801. It uses a 50 µm core (OM3) to support high-speed data transmission with low attenuation and provides the shortest connection between a passive cabling port and an active network port or a point-to-point link between two active ports.

How to use

Route the fibre patch cable carefully to avoid tight bends and excessive tensile stress; secure the cable using appropriate cable management accessories. Align and insert the ST connectors into compatible ST ports until they engage. When disconnecting, pull on the connector body or strain relief, not on the fibre jacket. Store spare cables in a manner that prevents kinks or crushing.

Recommendations

Use the OM3 ST patch cable for short- to medium-range multimode links within racks and between adjacent racks. Avoid bending radii below the manufacturer’s recommendations and protect connectors from dust with caps when not connected. For long-distance links or singlemode requirements, select an appropriate singlemode cable.
