How to use

Connect the Aegis Padlock to a host via the integrated USB cable. On first use, follow the on-device keypad prompts to set an Administrator PIN and any User PINs; no software installation is required. Enter the correct PIN on the keypad to unlock the drive and access files through the host operating system. The administrator can enroll up to five user IDs and unlock the drive if a user PIN is forgotten. To reset the drive and clear all data and PINs, use the drive reset command as described in the device instructions.

Recommendations

Set a strong numeric PIN, store the Admin PIN separately from regular use, and enable auto-lock to protect data when the drive is left unattended. Use the drive reset only when redeploying the unit, as reset permanently erases data and creates a new encryption key.
