Running HD video over long distances with coaxial cable is expensive and inflexible. The DELTA TR-1D-HD*P2 video balun pair solves this by converting an unbalanced 75-ohm BNC video signal to a balanced 100-ohm signal for transmission over ordinary unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable such as Cat5e or Cat6. This passive device requires no external power and supports all common HD analogue formats: HD-CVI, HD-TVI, AHD, and standard CVBS. It is ideal for CCTV installations where existing network cabling can be reused, or where long cable runs make coax impractical.

Tips

For best results, use solid copper UTP cable (not CCA) and avoid running parallel to high-voltage power lines. Ensure the twisted pair used for video is from the same pair to maintain signal integrity. The baluns are colour-coded or labelled for polarity – connect the video signal to the same colour terminal on both ends.
