The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water cooler for GeForce RTX 4XXX series GPUs is a next-generation full-cover block designed to manage the higher heat output of modern graphics cards. Compared with the previous model, the fin structure and jet plate were optimized to increase cooling surface and improve water distribution across the cooling fins. The block is manufactured from chrome-plated copper and includes an Alphacool Subzero thermal compound and thermal pads for VRM, memory and back of PCB.

Advantages

The redesigned fin structure (0.4 mm thickness and 0.4 mm spacing) was developed with Nvidia board partners to balance increased cooling surface and good water flow. A revised jet plate evens out water pressure and improves inflow angle for better heat transfer. Chrome-plated copper construction offers greater hardness and resistance to acids, scratches and chipping compared with nickel plating, while also providing a more uniform shine. Included high-performance thermal paste (16 W/m·K) and thermal pads (7 W/m·K and 3 W/m·K) provide reliable thermal interface performance.

How to use

Install the water block following the GPU manufacturer’s and Alphacool’s installation instructions: remove the original cooler, clean GPU contact surfaces, apply the supplied Alphacool Subzero thermal compound to the GPU die, place the supplied thermal pads on memory and VRM areas, align the water block on the PCB and fasten using the provided screws and mounting hardware. Connect the block to your custom loop using appropriate G1/4" fittings and ensure the system is leak-tested before normal operation.

Recommendations

Use recommended coolant compatible with copper components, check mounting torque values from the manufacturer, and perform a pressure and leak test after installation. For optimal RGB operation, connect the 5 V digitally addressable LED header to a compatible controller or motherboard header.
