The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water block with backplate is a purpose-built cooling solution for GeForce RTX 40XX graphics cards. Constructed from chrome-plated copper with acrylic and aluminium accents, it offers an open, transparent look that highlights the digitally addressable RGB illumination. The design and internal flow geometry were revised for this generation to improve heat transfer and provide even lighting distribution across the cooler.

Advantages

Fin and jet-plate geometry were optimized in cooperation with Nvidia board partners to increase effective cooling surface while maintaining very good water flow. The cooler is entirely chrome-plated copper, which offers higher hardness and resistance to acids and scratches compared with traditional nickel plating, reducing the risk of plating damage. Included high-performance thermal compound and pads ensure efficient heat transfer to the water block.

How to use

Install the water block following the manufacturer's instructions for your specific GeForce RTX 40XX card: remove the original air cooler, clean GPU and memory contact surfaces, apply the supplied Subzero thermal compound to the GPU die, and place the supplied thermal pads on the voltage regulators and memory chips. Secure the water block to the PCB using the provided screws and standoffs. Connect inlet and outlet ports to the custom loop and connect the 5 V ARGB header to a compatible controller or motherboard header.

Recommendations

Ensure compatibility with your exact GPU PCB layout before installation. Use corrosion-inhibited coolant and follow standard custom-loop assembly practices: leak testing at low pump speed for several hours, ensuring correct flow direction, and periodic maintenance. Avoid mechanical stress on the PCB during mounting and verify ARGB connections before power-on.
