How to use

Install up to two SATA HDDs/SSDs in the tool-free trays and insert up to three M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs via the side sliding cover using the supplied hand-tightened screws. Connect the D5 Hybrid to a host computer with the included 0.8 m USB-C cable. For automatic scheduled backups on Windows, install the TPC Backupper client and create a backup task to the TerraMaster device. Configure array mode for the two SATA bays as needed; place frequently accessed data on the NVMe M.2 SSDs for faster performance.

Recommendations

Use HDDs in the SATA bays for cold or archival data and NVMe M.2 SSDs for hot, frequently accessed data. Enable disk sleep to reduce power consumption and extend HDD lifespan, and monitor temperatures if all M.2 slots are populated to ensure adequate cooling.
