Surveillance Camera Hikvision DS-2CD2T63G2-4LI(4mm) IP Tube Camera

The Hikvision DS-2CD2T63G2-4LI(4mm) IP Tube Camera is a 6MP surveillance camera designed for reliable video monitoring in both residential and commercial environments. It delivers high-resolution footage with wide dynamic range and advanced image processing, while built-in IR illumination enables clear night-time capture. The camera uses H.265+ compression to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising image detail, and its weather-resistant housing supports outdoor installation.

Advantages

This 6MP tube camera provides detailed image quality suitable for identifying persons and objects at moderate distances. The integrated IR LEDs offer extended low-light performance for nighttime monitoring, while the H.265+ codec optimizes recorded file sizes and network load. Durable construction and IP-rated protection make the unit appropriate for exposed mounting, and compact tube form factor simplifies installation on walls or ceilings.

Suitable for

• Outdoor perimeter and entry-point monitoring for homes and businesses
• Parking areas and driveways where night visibility is required
• Retail storefronts and small commercial properties
• Office exteriors and delivery zones

Key specifications

• Image sensor: 6 megapixel resolution delivering high-detail video
• Lens: 4 mm fixed focal length suitable for medium-wide field of view
• Compression: H.265+ video compression for reduced storage and bandwidth
• Night vision: Built-in infrared illumination for low-light and no-light scenes

How to use

Mount the camera in a position that provides the desired field of view at an appropriate height and angle, using compatible mounting hardware. Connect the camera to a PoE-enabled network switch or injector to supply power and data through a single Ethernet cable, or follow the manufacturer's guidance for alternative power options. Access the camera's settings via the network using a supported NVR, management software or browser interface to configure resolution, compression, motion detection and IR behavior. Verify the scene coverage in both daytime and nighttime conditions and adjust the camera angle or focus if necessary.

Recommendations

For optimal long-term performance, install the camera under a small protective overhang if possible, ensure firmware is kept up to date, and schedule regular checks of lens cleanliness and network connectivity. Configure recording and retention settings on the connected NVR or cloud service to match storage capacity and operational needs.
