Surveillance Camera HIKVISION DS-2CD2T23G2-4LI 2.8mm

The HIKVISION DS-2CD2T23G2-4LI 2.8mm is a 2MP IP surveillance camera designed for continuous monitoring of outdoor and indoor areas. Equipped with a 2.8mm fixed lens, this camera provides a wide field of view suitable for general perimeter and area coverage while delivering clear 2MP resolution images. It uses H.265+ video compression to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements and includes IR illumination for night-time visibility, motion detection for event-triggered recording, and an IP66-rated housing for weather resistance.

Advantages

The camera combines efficient H.265+ compression with a 2MP sensor to balance image quality and storage economy. Its 2.8mm lens gives a broad coverage angle for monitoring entrances, driveways, and open spaces. Integrated IR LEDs enable reliable night monitoring, and a weatherproof enclosure supports installation in exposed outdoor locations. Built-in motion detection reduces false recordings by focusing on relevant events.

Suitable for

• Outdoor perimeter and entrance monitoring
• Parking lots and driveways
• Retail storefronts and building facades
• Home and small business exterior surveillance

How to use

Mount the camera in a stable location that provides the desired field of view, keeping the lens clear of obstructions. Connect the camera to your network via Ethernet or PoE where supported, and configure basic settings through the provided management software or a compatible network video recorder. Adjust image parameters such as exposure, white balance and ROI (region of interest) to fine-tune picture quality. Enable motion detection zones and configure recording schedules to capture relevant events while minimizing unnecessary footage.

Recommendations

For best performance, install the camera at an appropriate height and angle to avoid direct backlighting and reduce glare. Use PoE connection when possible to simplify power and network cabling. Regularly check lens cleanliness and firmware updates to maintain image clarity and security. When deploying outdoors, ensure mounting hardware and seals are correctly installed to preserve the weatherproof rating.
