Precision side-cutting pliers designed for ultra-fine cutting tasks in electronics and fine mechanics. The Knipex 78 91 125 features ground, very sharp cutting edges without bevel and precision-shaped tips that cut wires resting on a board from 0.2 mm diameter. The pliers include a stainless steel rivet joint, induction-hardened cutting edges, an opening spring and an opening limiter for controlled use. Available in INOX or special tool steel and supplied with a plastic handle for comfortable grip.

How to use

Hold the pliers by the insulated plastic handles and position the precision-shaped tips around the wire to be cut, ensuring the wire rests on the board if working on PCB-mounted leads. Squeeze the handles evenly to cut; the lead catcher will retain the cut wire end. Use the opening limiter and spring for controlled single-handed operation and to prevent over-opening.

Recommendations

For best results, use these pliers for straight, clean cuts on component leads and board-mounted wires. Avoid cutting hardened screws or nails. Clean and lightly lubricate the joint periodically and inspect cutting edges for wear; regrind only with suitable tooling to maintain edge geometry and hardness.
