The EXSYS EX-1309-9 USB 2.0 to RS-232/422/485 cable provides a single high-performance 16C550-type UART compatible RS-232 serial port over a 9-pin male DB-9 connector. Designed for PCs, thin clients, notebooks and servers, it expands system COM ports instantly via a USB 1.1/2.0 Type-A connection without opening the computer. The cable is 1.8 m long, black, and weighs approximately 0.15 kg.

How to use

Connect the USB Type-A plug to an available USB 1.1 or 2.0 port on your PC, notebook or server. Attach the DB-9 male connector to the serial device using the appropriate wiring for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 as required. The device is bus-powered by default; if using power over DB-9, ensure your connected equipment supports that option. Install any required drivers provided by the operating system or Exsys to enable the virtual COM port if the system does not automatically recognize the adapter.
