It ships with a 4 TB hard drive and a 256 GB SSD, supports RAID 0/1/10 for storage redundancy, and includes integrated PoE ports and AXIS Camera Station Pro licenses to run a complete surveillance solution.

Advantages

The recorder is an all-in-one appliance that combines a built-in PoE switch, preloaded recording software and management tools, and included AXIS Camera Station Pro licenses to minimize setup time. It supports storage expansion with two available bays, RAID configurations for redundancy, and advanced cybersecurity features such as an encrypted operating system and FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified TPM. A five-year hardware warranty and advance replacement service reduce operational downtime and simplify maintenance.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

The AXIS S2216 Mk II is optimized for on‑premises deployments in racks and may be oversized or more capable than necessary for small home or single-room setups. If a cloud-only, lightweight recorder or a tiny edge device is required, a dedicated cloud service or smaller edge recorder could be more appropriate.
