Extralink FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair) Category 5e indoor network cable is an ideal solution for building local computer networks and surveillance (CCTV) installations. It was designed specifically for indoor applications. The durable PE outer sheath provides protection and convenient installation. The wires are made of pure copper and are encased in a 1.02mm HDPE sheath. The twisted pair supports key network applications, including Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps), offering stable and high quality data transmission. Robust and proven design

The cable design is based on a robust twisted-pair FTP (aluminum foil shielded) cable consisting of 4 pairs of twisted wires. This twisting effectively eliminates mutual and electromagnetic interference. Additional foil shielding and the presence of a ground wire significantly improve the quality and stability of the transmitted signal. Convenience of installation is guaranteed by a self-expanding reel, in which 305 meters of the product are delivered, allowing the cable to be unwound quickly and without problems.

How to use

Install the Extralink CAT5E FTP cable for indoor structured cabling runs. Strip the outer PE sheath and foil shield carefully to expose the twisted pairs and grounding conductor when terminating to jacks, patch panels or keystone modules. Maintain correct pair untwist lengths and follow T568A/B wiring schemes and good cable management practices. Use the foil drain/ground conductor to connect shielding to the system ground at one end to ensure effective EMI protection.

Recommendations

For best performance, avoid tight bends, do not exceed manufacturer recommended pulling tension, and keep the cable away from strong sources of electrical interference. Terminate and ground the foil shield correctly and test connections after installation using appropriate cable testers for continuity and performance.
