Minis Forum NAS N5 mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 H255, 16GB+128GB OS storage

Minis Forum NAS N5 is a compact NAS PC designed for users who need high computing power and extensive storage in a small form factor. The used AMD Ryzen™ 7 255 processor with eight cores and sixteen threads guarantees high performance in everyday tasks, virtualization, media editing or working with large files. The integrated Radeon™ 780M graphics chip supports video acceleration and 3D rendering, making the device a versatile tool for developers and professionals. The device supports up to 96 GB of fast DDR5 memory (5600 MT/s), supports up to eight storage media with a total capacity of up to 144 TB, and offers a rich set of ports: 10 GbE and 5 GbE LAN, USB4, HDMI 2.1 and OCuLink. A PCIe x16 slot allows for further system expansion, and the dedicated MinisCloud OS ensures stable operation and easy data management in a home or business environment. All this is complemented by a modern, functional design designed for efficient cooling and trouble-free operation for many hours a day.

Next-generation multi-core performance

At the heart of the Minis Forum NAS N5 is an AMD Ryzen™ 7,255 processor with eight cores and sixteen threads, which offers up to six times the performance of the popular N100-class units used in many NAS servers. Such high computing power enables simultaneous access by multiple users, smooth processing of large files and fast operations in multitasking environments. The processor also excels in tasks that require multimedia decoding and data analysis, providing significantly better performance in multi-threaded tests (Cinebench R23 Multi-Core - 17,069 points). The integrated AMD Radeon™ 780M graphics chip supports smooth 4K video transcoding, making the NAS N5 an excellent choice for both content creators and professionals using advanced graphics and video applications.

Intelligent system for work and data management

The device runs on MinisCloud OS, which combines ease of use with professional-grade features. The platform works with Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, allowing quick access to data from any device - without the need to configure complex network protocols. Built-in features such as ZFS snapshots, LZ4 compression, multi-user isolation and support for containerized applications allow you to create a secure work environment and manage resources efficiently. The system also offers AI-based smart photo albums and one-click remote access, allowing users to fully control their data, regardless of location or device. Integrated tools monitor file integrity and use the high-speed, lossless LZ4 compression algorithm (up to 500 MB/s) to help manage storage space and speed up backups.

Expanded computing power for professionals

Thanks to the OCuLink port, it is possible to connect an external graphics card (eGPU), which significantly speeds up calculations related to artificial intelligence, rendering or image processing - by up to three times. A built-in PCIe x16 slot allows further expansion - from 10 GbE network cards, to storage controllers, to additional ultra-low-latency SSDs. Such capabilities make the NAS N5 ideal for creators, developers and IT professionals looking for a flexible, scalable and powerful system ready to handle the most demanding tasks.

Fast transfers and secure data copies

The computer is equipped with a 10 GbE network port, which provides data transfer speeds of up to 1,250 MB/s - up to ten times faster than standard gigabit networks. As a result, it takes just a few seconds to transfer a 10-gigabyte file, such as a Blu-ray movie. Such high throughput makes it easier to collaborate between teams, handle large graphics projects or exchange data between servers without delays. In addition, the ZFS file system with snapshots protects data from accidental deletion and allows quick restoration of an earlier version of files, which is especially important for financial records, graphic design projects, videos or customer resources.

Smart media library and entertainment center

The NAS N5 can also act as a personal media center. With its intelligent AI Photo Library, it automatically recognizes faces, classifies photos by scene, and allows you to search for images based on their content - ideal for organizing large photo collections. Remote media access lets you view, play and share photos and videos from any location and device. Home Theater & Music Hall features offer a comfortable environment for watching movies and listening to music - with support for high-quality video formats and lossless audio. It's a complete solution for home entertainment and digital collections.

Convenient sharing and full data control

MinisCloud OS offers an intuitive, cross-platform interface with drag-and-drop support, instant file access and simple backup. With Public Network Traversal, it is possible to remotely connect to the server from anywhere - without complicated network configuration. The system supports one-button backups and synchronization between PC and Mac, allowing quick access to documents, photos or work projects. Granular Access Control lets you create private spaces for each user - ideal for teams and families. The system works locally, without storing login credentials in the cloud, enhancing privacy. The entire system is based on encrypted connections and multi-level data encryption to ensure secure access and storage of information.

Server-class memory and storage

Minis Forum NAS N5 combines high operational performance with tremendous data storage flexibility. Support for up to 96 GB of DDR5 5600 MT/s memory provides 75% higher bandwidth than DDR4, resulting in smooth operation of multiple virtual machines, fast file processing and reliable performance in environments loaded with analytical or multimedia tasks. The storage system offers space for five 3.5"/2.5" HDDs (up to 110 TB) and three M.2/U.2 SSDs (up to 34 TB), for a total impressive capacity of up to 144 TB. Users can use various RAID 0/1/5/6 configurations, tailoring the system to their needs - from maximum performance to the highest level of data security. Such an extensive architecture makes the NAS N5 an ideal choice for developers, project teams and companies looking for a reliable back-up for working with large collections of information.

Thoughtful design for maximum convenience

The computer is designed to provide maximum functionality while maintaining compact dimensions (199 × 202 × 252 mm). The innovative 5-bay chassis accommodates as many as five drives in a space typically used for four, offering 25% more capacity without increasing the size of the device. A slide-out motherboard allows quick access to components and seamless expansion of RAM or replacement of SSDs, while the modular design supports standard components, eliminating the limitations typical of integrated solutions. Efficient cooling is taken care of by the 9225 dual fan system, which actively dissipates heat from the HDD bays, ensuring stable and quiet operation even under heavy load. An additional USB-A port allows you to connect a system drive or backup media, maintaining the aesthetic, minimalist look of the case.

How to use

Install the preferred NAS or server operating system to the internal 128GB OS storage or configure it as a boot device for the supplied firmware. Connect the Minis Forum NAS N5 to your local network via Ethernet and configure network settings, shared folders and user permissions using the chosen NAS software or OS management interface. Populate storage volumes with data, set up scheduled backups or synchronization tasks, and enable remote access, media libraries or container services according to your needs. Monitor system health and storage utilization regularly to ensure reliable operation.

Recommendations

For optimal long-term reliability, place the device in a well-ventilated location, ensure stable power supply or UPS protection for continuous operation, and maintain regular backups of critical data. Keep firmware and OS packages up to date, and allocate additional external or internal storage if your data volume grows beyond the capacity of the initial configuration.
