Managed Switch Cudy GS2008PS2 L2 Gigabit Ethernet 8 Ports PoE

The Cudy GS2008PS2 is a managed L2 Gigabit Ethernet switch with eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and two SFP slots, designed for small and medium business networks. It supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards and delivers up to 120 W of total PoE power, enabling deployment of wireless access points, IP surveillance cameras and other powered devices without separate power supplies. The switch offers a 20 Gbit/s switching capacity, an 8000-entry MAC address table and Layer 2 management features including port-based VLANs, link aggregation and spanning tree, providing predictable performance and scalable network expansion.

Advantages

The managed GS2008PS2 combines Power over Ethernet capability with enterprise-grade Layer 2 features, giving network administrators flexible control over traffic, security and power distribution. Integrated QoS and advanced security mechanisms help prioritise critical traffic and protect connected devices. Dual SFP uplink ports and support for link aggregation increase uplink flexibility and resilience while the compact, rack- or shelf-friendly design in black simplifies deployment in constrained server rooms or network cabinets.

How to use

Install the GS2008PS2 on a flat surface or mount it in a rack or cabinet according to local installation practices. Connect each powered device to the RJ45 PoE ports using standard Ethernet cables and verify that connected devices support IEEE 802.3af/at where PoE is required. Use the SFP slots with appropriate SFP modules for fiber uplinks or longer-distance connections. Access the switch management interface via its IP address to configure VLANs, QoS policies, PoE scheduling and link aggregation settings. Monitor PoE consumption and port status through the management console to ensure devices receive required power without exceeding the total PoE budget.

Recommendations

For stable operation, distribute PoE-powered devices across ports to avoid concentrating the load on adjacent ports and monitor the total PoE draw to remain within the 120 W budget; use the management interface to configure VLANs and QoS for prioritising surveillance and voice traffic, and choose appropriate SFP modules for matching fiber type and distance.
