How to use

Install the DGS-1210-10P in a suitable 1U rack space and connect your network devices to the 8 Gigabit RJ-45 ports. Use fibre uplink ports where longer-distance or interference-immune connections are required. Configure network settings through the web-based UI or Compact CLI: create VLANs, configure MSTP, set link aggregation (LACP), and add static routes as needed. Enable PoE to power compatible devices and apply security settings such as IGMP snooping and access control lists to segment and protect traffic.

Recommendations

For surveillance deployments, enable the switch’s Surveillance Mode in the Web UI to automatically detect IP cameras and place them into an Auto Surveillance VLAN. Use the free D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) for initial discovery and the D-View 7 management system for broader network monitoring and analysis. Ensure adequate power budget planning when connecting multiple PoE/PoE+ devices.
