The Lindy Cat.6 HDMI 4K60, USB and Audio KVM Extender transmits HDMI video, USB and audio signals from a source device such as a PC to a remote console up to 70 m over a single Cat.6 cable. The kit includes a transmitter and receiver; the transmitter connects to the source (PC or KVM switch) while the receiver provides connections for a display, keyboard and mouse. The transmitter also includes an HDMI loop-through output for local monitoring.

How to use

Connect the transmitter to the source device (PC or KVM switch) via HDMI and the receiver to the remote display, keyboard and mouse using the appropriate HDMI and USB ports. Link the transmitter and receiver with a single Cat.6 U/UTP or F/UTP cable up to the specified distances. If required, enable PoC by applying a single power supply to either the transmitter or receiver in a point-to-point configuration. Use the EDID DIP-switch to copy EDID from the connected display or select one of the presets to ensure correct video output. For local monitoring, connect a display to the transmitter HDMI loop-through port. If audio output is needed at the receiver, use the 3.5 mm jack to connect speakers or headphones.

Recommendations

For best performance use high-quality Cat.6 or better U/UTP or F/UTP cables, avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power lines, and place the power supply on the transmitter or receiver according to site power availability. Do not connect the extender through active network equipment; use only a direct point-to-point Cat.6 connection between transmitter and receiver.
