This InLine® Gigabit network card, 1x SFP fibre 1Gb/swas developed for use in desktop, server and embedded systemsand meets modern requirements in terms of energy efficiency, form factor and network stability. It is equipped with an SFP slot that supports various fibre optic transceivers and thus enables flexible network connections over different distances and media types.

By supporting current network protocols and functions such as VLAN tagging, flow control, jumbo frames or checksum offloading, the card is suitable for both standard networks and specialised applications, such as audio-video transmission in accordance with IEEE 802.1Qav. The card is installed via a PCIe slot (PCI Express 2.1), allowing it to be easily integrated into existing systems.

The card can use various fibre optic connections, including:

1000BASE-SX (multimode): For short distances with light signals.

How to use

Power down the host system, insert the network card into an available PCIe x1 slot and secure it with the supplied bracket (standard or low-profile as required). Install an appropriate SFP transceiver for the chosen fibre type (SX, LX or BX) and connect the fibre cable. Boot the system and install drivers from the supplied CD or vendor website if the operating system does not automatically detect the card. Configure network settings (IP, VLANs, flow control, MTU for jumbo frames) in the host OS or network management software.

Recommendations

Use certified SFP transceivers compatible with 1000BASE-SX/LX/BX and follow recommended fibre handling practices. For multi-core systems enable Receive-side Scaling (RSS) and offloading features in the driver to improve throughput and CPU utilization. Ensure the card’s operating temperature remains within the specified range for reliable operation.
