Interface Card Akasa AK-PCCM2P-02

The Akasa AK-PCCM2P-02 is an internal M.2 to PCIe adapter card that converts an M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD to a standard PCIe x4 host interface. The kit includes a dedicated heatsink assembly and two thermal pads (thicknesses 2.3 mm and 1.5 mm). The adapter is compatible with PCIe Gen3 x4, x8 and x16 slots and is backwards compatible with PCIe Gen2. How to use

Power off the PC and unplug it from the mains. Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD into the adapter’s M.2 slot and secure it according to the SSD length mounting point. Apply the appropriate thermal pad between the SSD and the heatsink, choose the pad thickness that ensures firm contact, then attach the heatsink assembly. Install the adapter into an available PCIe Gen3 x4, x8 or x16 slot on the motherboard and fasten the card to the chassis. Reconnect power and boot the system; the SSD should be detected by the OS if drivers and BIOS settings support NVMe devices.

Recommendations

Install in a PCIe slot that supports PCIe Gen3 x4 to achieve the best performance. Ensure the chosen thermal pad provides full contact between SSD and heatsink and verify BIOS/UEFI NVMe settings if the drive is not immediately detected.
