The InLine® PoE++ Gigabit Network Switch is a fast and flexible solution for upgrading the existing network to the Power over Ethernet System IEEE 802.3af / 802.at / 802.3bt as well as a fiber-optic connection to bridge longer distances.

The switch provides protection against, for example, overload, overvoltage and overheating at each port. In addition, the switch offers IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ on ports 5-16 with up to 32 watts of power and IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ on ports 1-4 with up to 60 watts of power via single Cat. 5e/6/6A/8.1 Ethernet cable with a PoE budget of 300W and a combined total power of 330W.

16x 10/100/1000MBit/s PoE ports solve the problem of a limited number of available power outlets, providing system administrators with a flexible solution to power almost anywhere the powering network device, such as PoE-enabled IP cameras or wireless Access Points (with heating also).

The switch menu can be password protected to prevent unauthorized access.

How to use

Mount the switch in a 19" rack (1U) or place it on a stable surface. Connect network devices to the Gigabit RJ45 ports using Cat.5e/6/6A/8.1 cables (maximum 100 m). Insert SFP modules into the SFP slots for fiber uplink where required. Configure PoE settings and monitoring via the device menu; the LCD shows real-time PoE operating status. Use the password protection feature to restrict access to the switch configuration.

Recommendations

For reliable PoE delivery, plan port power allocation considering the PoE budget (300 W) and per-port limits (60 W / 32 W). Use appropriate SFP modules for single-mode or multi-mode fiber as needed and ensure cable runs do not exceed 100 m for copper links. Maintain adequate ventilation around the switch (it contains three fans) and install in environments within the specified temperature and humidity ranges.
