HPE Aruba 6300M Managed Switch – 48x 1GbE PoE Class 4, 4x SFP56 (JL661A)

The Managed Switch Aruba 6300M (JL661A) is a rack-mountable Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for enterprise access and aggregation. It provides 48 PoE RJ-45 Gigabit ports, high switching capacity and advanced programmability with Aruba AOS-CX, making it suitable for dense wired deployments, high-speed APs and IoT devices while supporting centralized analytics and automation.

Advantages

The Aruba 6300M combines a Gen7 ASIC architecture with a programmable operating system (AOS-CX) and the Aruba Network Analytics Engine for real-time monitoring and faster troubleshooting. It supports Aruba Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) for front-plane stacking, multi-gigabit HPE Smart Rate ports with IEEE 802.3bt high-power PoE, and extensive telemetry and automation tools (Python agents, REST APIs, TSDB) for simplified operations and faster issue resolution.

Suitable for

• Enterprise access layer with high-density wired endpoints
• Aggregation in campus networks and branch offices
• Deployments requiring multi-gigabit ports and high-power PoE for APs and IoT
• Environments that need centralized analytics and automated troubleshooting

How to use

Install the Aruba 6300M in a standard 1U rack space and connect the 48 Gigabit PoE RJ-45 ports to edge devices. Use the built-in QSFP28 ports for uplink or VSF stacking to expand capacity and simplify management. Configure the switch via Aruba AOS-CX using the CLI, REST APIs or Aruba CX Mobile App and verify configurations with Aruba NetEdit. Enable NAE telemetry and TSDB to collect performance data and automate routine checks and diagnostics.

Recommendations

For best results, deploy Aruba Dynamic Segmentation and role-based access controls to enforce consistent policies across wired and wireless infrastructure; enable TSDB and advanced telemetry for proactive monitoring, and use VSF stacking when you require simplified management and higher aggregate throughput.
