Espresso machine Philips 1200 series EP1223/00 — 1.8 L water tank, built-in grinder, 275 g bean hopper, 1500 W, white

The Philips 1200 series EP1223/00 is a fully automatic espresso machine designed for everyday home use and small offices. It combines a 1.8 L water tank with a 275 g bean hopper and a built-in grinder to deliver fresh espresso from whole beans or pre-ground coffee. The compact unit uses 1500 W of power and a straightforward control layout to prepare consistent, aromatic espresso in a durable, white housing that fits most kitchen interiors.

Advantages

The integrated grinder preserves bean aroma by grinding immediately before extraction, while the option to use pre-ground coffee adds flexibility for different recipes. A 1.8 L water tank reduces refill frequency for multiple servings, and the 275 g bean hopper stores a substantial amount of coffee beans. The machine’s compact footprint and 7.5 kg weight make it easy to place on counters without requiring a dedicated space. Energy-efficient operation and simple cleaning routines support daily use.

• Daily espresso preparation at home

• Users who prefer freshly ground coffee beans
• Households needing a compact, easy-to-maintain espresso machine

How to use

Fill the water tank with fresh water and add whole beans to the bean hopper or use the dedicated compartment for ground coffee. Switch on the machine and select the desired coffee type and cup size using the control panel. The built-in grinder will mill beans to the set degree before extraction; for ground coffee, insert the specified amount into the ground coffee intake. Place a cup under the spout and start brewing. After use, follow the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance: empty drip tray and coffee grounds container regularly and perform routine descaling as required.

Recommendations

Use freshly roasted whole beans stored in a cool, dry place to preserve aroma, and perform regular maintenance such as cleaning the brew group and descaling to ensure consistent performance and flavour. For frequent use in a small office, keep spare water on hand to minimize downtime between servings.
