With adoption of the USB3.2 Gen2 protocol, D2-320 provides a 10Gbps data transmission bandwidth, with the actual read/write speed up to 521MB/s when 2 hard drives are installed (Seagate Eoxs 22TB X2 RAID 0); with two hard disk installed, the read speed could reach 1075MB/s (SAMSUNG 870QVO 1TB SSD X2 RAID 0).

Super-large Storage Space

D2-320 supports up to 2 hard drives and a maximum drive capacity of 22TB (the compatibility with larger hard drives not verified yet), providing users with a storage space up to 44TB (22TB x 2).

Compatible with hard disks in different kinds

D2-320 is compatible with various hard disks, such as 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA hard disks, and 2.5-inch SATA SSD. Remark: using incompatible hard disk may cause your device disconnected, with low speed and failure in hard disk recognition. Multiple RAID Modes

Convenient to swap hard drives

The D2-320 features a tool-free hard drive tray design that allows for easy installation and removal of hard drives without the need for any tools. Furthermore, the D2-320 incorporates a brand new Push-lock unique design from TerraMaster, which automatically locks the hard drive tray when you insert the hard drive, preventing the hard drive from falling out or disconnecting. As a result, installing a hard drive takes less than 10 seconds, providing great convenience for users who frequently swap hard drives to exchange data.

Highly Compatible Interface

D2-320 is equipped with a USB Type-C interface and a USB type C-type C cable (0.8 meter in length), and could be compatible with a variety of computer interfaces: USB 3.0/USB 3.1/USB 3.2/Thunderbolt 3/Thunderbolt 4.

Expansion of NAS Storage Space

D2-320 can be connected to the USB interface of TerraMaster NAS after special adaptation and adjustment. Creating arrays and storage pools on D2-320 with TerraMaster TOS could expand the storage space of NAS. Remark: this function works only on TerraMaster NAS running TOS 5.1 or above.

Intelligent Disk Sleep

D2-320 supports the sleep function, which can follow the computer OS to sleep, effectively reducing the working duration and power consumption of the hard disk, and extending its service life.

To prevent equipment and hard disk from being damaged by use of an improper power supply, D2-320 adopts the power supply protection. In case of an improper power supply connected, the device will enable automatic protection to prevent itself and the hard disk from damage.

Very Quiet

D2-320 adopts an intelligent temperature-controlled and low-noise fan that adjusts its speed automatically based on the temperature of the hard disk to ensure the hard disk to work at the best operating temperature. Furthermore, the internal structure of the device is specially optimized, which not only effectively increases the internal air pressure and reduces the working temperature of the hard disk, but also greatly reduces the resonance between device components and the hard disk.With this feature, D2-320 can maintain satisfactory low noise even under a full-load working environment.

TPC Backupper is an extremely user-friendly Windows PC backup tool that allows you to schedule the backup of folders and disk partitions on your Windows PC to TerraMaster USB devices or NAS network storage servers.To start automatic backups, simply connect the device to your computer, install the TPC Backupper client, and set up a scheduled backup task.This straightforward and reliable backup solution enables you to concentrate on your work, while in the background the TerraMaster D2-320 concentrates on its work to protect your crucial data. TPC Backupper supports both incremental and differential backup strategies and is compatible with Windows 8/8.1/10/11.

How to use

Install one or two SATA drives into the tool-free trays and insert the trays into the enclosure until the push-lock secures them. Connect the D2-320 to a host computer via the supplied USB-C cable; the device is compatible with USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 and Thunderbolt 3/4 ports. Configure the desired RAID mode using the host OS, RAID utility or TerraMaster management tools. To use automatic backups on Windows, install the TPC Backupper client on the PC, connect the device and set up a scheduled backup task. When connecting to a TerraMaster NAS, use TOS 5.1 or later and follow NAS instructions to create arrays or storage pools on the D2-320.

Recommendations

Use compatible SATA HDDs/SSDs listed in TerraMaster's compatibility documentation. For best performance, choose drives of the same model and capacity for RAID arrays; ensure the NAS firmware or host drivers are up to date. Allow adequate ventilation around the enclosure and use the intelligent sleep setting to reduce drive wear when idle.
