These ports detect the network speed and auto-negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX, as well as between full and half-duplex, to get you the maximum speed possible for each device connected to your network, for faster browsing, video streaming, and online gaming. The GO-SW-8E also supports Auto MDI/MDIX Crossover, allowing you to connect each port directly to a server, hub, router, or switch using regular straight-through twisted-pair Ethernet cables.

How to use

Each port will auto-sense 10/100 Mbps and negotiate duplex automatically; LEDs show link and activity status. No software configuration is required—once cables and power are connected the switch forwards traffic between devices.

Recommendations

For best performance, use Cat5e or Cat6 cables and connect high-traffic devices (such as NAS or media servers) to the switch. Place the unit in a ventilated area and avoid stacking heavy objects on top. Although the switch supports energy-saving features, powering off unused devices further reduces overall energy consumption.
