How to use

Install the KL1516Ai into a standard 19" rack using the supplied rack-mount kit. Connect servers using the provided or compatible KVM adapter cables (PS/2, USB, Sun, or serial as required) to the RJ-45 ports using Cat 5e/6 cabling. Attach the integrated LCD/keyboard console or connect an external console to the extra console port. Configure network settings and user accounts via the local OSD, browser-based GUI or management software (ALTUSEN CC2000) and apply desired security settings and encryption. For remote access, enable IP settings and authentication methods (RADIUS/LDAP/AD) and, if needed, daisy-chain additional KVM switches to expand the number of controlled servers.

Recommendations

Place the unit in a properly ventilated rack space and use quality Cat 5e/6 cables and ATEN-recommended adapter cables for reliable video and peripheral signals. Regularly back up configuration and upgrade firmware when new versions are available to maintain security and compatibility.
