ATEN DVI Over Cat5e/6 Audio/Video Extender (60m)

The ATEN VE600A AV transmitter and receiver extends DVI video and stereo audio signals up to 60 m over Cat 5e cables, allowing a DVI display to be placed remotely from the source. The unit transmits A/V over a single Cat 5e cable; if the real EDID handshake is required, a second Cat 5e cable can be used. How to use

Connect the local unit to the DVI source using the DVI-D connector and connect the remote unit to the display with its DVI-D output. Use a Cat 5e cable between the local and remote units to carry video and stereo audio; if EDID information from the display must be passed back to the source, connect a second Cat 5e cable. Plug in the supplied power adapters for both units, mount the units if required, then power on the source and display. Verify resolution and audio settings on the source to match the target display up to 1920 x 1200.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use good-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables and avoid running them alongside high-power electrical lines. If the display requires specific EDID data (for example custom resolutions or color profiles), connect the second Cat5e cable to enable EDID pass-through.
