The Noctua NH-U9 DX-4677 is a compact air cooler designed for Intel LGA4677 platforms. It combines a 120 mm fan, an enlarged copper contact surface tailored to LGA4677 processors, a 140 mm-class heatsink design derived from Noctua’s proven NH-U14S, two NF-A15 fans in a push/pull arrangement, the SecuFirm2™ mounting system and pre-applied NT-H1 thermal compound to provide quiet, reliable cooling for Xeon-based workstations and servers.

How to use

Ensure the system is powered off and placed on a stable surface. Fit the appropriate LGA4677 plastic carrier frame (E1A/E1B/E1C) onto the CPU as required by Intel’s installation guidelines. Position the NH-U9 DX-4677 heatsink so the enlarged copper base contacts the CPU IHS, then install the SecuFirm2™ bracket using the included Torx® T30 tool and the standard Intel parts (anti-tilt mechanism, Torx T30 PEEK nuts and carrier frame). Connect the PWM fan headers to the motherboard for automatic speed control. The cooler is supplied with NT-H1 pre-applied; no additional TIM is required unless re-installing after removal.

Recommendations

Use the NH-U9 DX-4677 in systems where low noise and reliable, long-term cooling of LGA4677 Xeon processors is required. For optimal performance, ensure adequate case airflow and allow the motherboard to manage fan speed via PWM.
