The ACT DC9810 is a 10 m Cat6 U/UTP RJ-45 networking cable with gold-plated RJ-45 connectors and a slimline design. Compared with regular Cat6 patch cords, this cable has a smaller diameter (approximately 3.8 mm) which reduces required bend radius and improves airflow in server racks and network cabinets. It supports Cat6 performance while using 28 AWG conductors, which may increase attenuation at higher frequencies. For PoE use, ACT recommends limiting bundles to 24 cables to avoid excessive temperature rise in the center cables.

How to use

Plug the gold-plated RJ-45 connectors into the network ports of the devices you want to connect, ensuring a secure click. Route the cable through the rack or cabinet keeping bend radius moderate to avoid sharp folds; the slimline cable permits tighter routing than standard Cat6 cords. If used in bundles for Power over Ethernet (PoE), follow the recommended bundle limits to control temperature rise.

Recommendations

For PoE deployments, limit bundles to a maximum of 24 cables as advised by ACT to keep temperature increase of the centre cable within the limits defined by ANSI TSB-184-A (less than 15 °C above ambient). Avoid excessive bending or kinking and maintain tidy routing to preserve performance and airflow.
