How to use

Route the patch cable between network ports or patch panels, ensuring gentle bends to avoid exceeding the cable's minimum bending radius. Insert the RJ45 connectors fully into corresponding ports until they click. For datacenter installations, plan cable runs to maintain airflow and secure cables to racks or trays as required.

Recommendations

Use shorter permanent link lengths than for standard 24 AWG patchcords to account for the higher attenuation of 28 AWG slimline cables. In PoE deployments, limit bundle sizes to a maximum of 24 cables to help control temperature rise; follow current guidance (ANSI TSB-184-A) that limits the centre-cable temperature increase to less than 15°C above ambient.
