The ACT SC4400 is an industrial sensor and actor cable designed for demanding automation environments. The cable features a TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) outer sheath and overmoulded TPE connectors, providing an IP67 degree of protection against dust and water. The Superflex Xtreme construction uses AWG22 conductor bundles where each core consists of 19 copper strands, resulting in greater flexibility compared with typical AWG24/7 patch cables. Stranded conductors are made from many thin uninsulated strands twisted together to enhance mechanical flexibility for motion applications.

How to use

Install the ACT SC4400 by connecting the appropriate connectors to the sensor or actuator and the matching control or network port, ensuring correct alignment and full engagement of the overmoulded connectors. Route the cable through cable chains or along protected cable paths, avoiding sharp edges and excessive compression. The TPE sheath tolerates mechanical movement; however, secure the cable to prevent undue strain at connection points. Verify IP67 sealing after installation in wet or dusty locations.

Recommendations

For long-term performance, avoid bending the cable repeatedly around radii smaller than recommended by the system designer and prevent continuous abrasion against rough surfaces. Regularly inspect connectors and sheath for damage, and replace the cable if strands are exposed or the IP67 seal is compromised.
