How to use

Connect one RJ45 end to the network port on your switch or patch panel and the other end to the device or port you want to link. Route the cable through the rack or cabinet keeping bend radius in mind and avoiding sharp kinks. For structured cabling, use the slimline cable to reduce congestion in high-density panels and to maintain airflow paths in the cabinet.

Recommendations

Although ISO/IEC and TIA standards typically reference 22–26 AWG for patch cords, these slimline cables use 32 AWG conductors which produce higher attenuation, especially at higher frequencies. To accommodate this, ACT recommends shorter permanent link lengths compared with standard 24 AWG patch cords. For Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications, limit bundles to a maximum of 24 cables to prevent excessive temperature rise. The ANSI TSB-184-A guideline restricts temperature increase to less than 15 °C above ambient for the centre cable in a bundle.
