How to use

Connect one RJ45 end to the network device (switch, patch panel or server) and the other end to the corresponding port. Ensure connectors fully click into place. Route the slimline cable along existing cable management paths to maintain airflow and avoid tight bends below the specified bending radius. For consistent performance, avoid excessive tension or crushing of the cable during installation.

Recommendations

Use 28 AWG slimline patch cables for short links; note that thinner conductors can increase attenuation at higher frequencies, so ACT recommends shorter permanent link lengths compared with standard 24 AWG patch cords. In PoE applications, limit bundle sizes to a maximum of 24 cables to help control temperature rise in the bundle, and follow current standards (ANSI TSB-184-A) to keep the centre-cable temperature increase below 15 °C above ambient.
