Although standards typically specify 22–26 AWG patch cords, this slimline product uses smaller conductor geometry similar to 28 AWG cables, which increases attenuation at higher frequencies. To accommodate this, limit the permanent link length compared with standard 24 AWG patchcords and restrict PoE bundles to a maximum of 24 cables to help control temperature rise (ANSI TSB-184-A limits a centre-cable temperature increase to less than 15 °C above ambient).
