How to use

Install the switch on a flat surface, wall bracket or rack using the appropriate mounting hardware. Connect each network device to the desired RJ-45 port using Cat5e or better cables. Power the unit using the supplied external power adapter. The switch will automatically negotiate link speed and duplex settings; no further configuration is required. For optimal performance with voice or video, connect endpoints and upstream devices on Gigabit-capable ports and enable QoS on connected equipment where applicable.

Recommendations

Place the GS1100-16 in a well-ventilated area free of dust. Use appropriate-length Ethernet cables and Cat5e or higher to ensure Gigabit performance.
