The unit can be powered via PoE (IEEE 802.3at) or an included external power supply and is manageable through the LANCOM Management Cloud. How to use

Install the LANCOM LX-6400 at a central location with good line-of-sight to client devices and connect it to your network via one of the RJ‑45 ports. For simplified deployment, power the unit with PoE (IEEE 802.3at) from a compatible switch; alternatively connect the supplied external power adapter. Add the access point to your LANCOM Management Cloud account for centralized provisioning, monitoring and firmware updates. Configure SSIDs, security settings (WPA3 or WPA2), and band steering as required for your environment.

Recommendations

Place the access point at ceiling height or high on a wall to improve coverage, enable band steering to balance clients across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and use 160 MHz channels only where client devices and local RF conditions support it to avoid co‑channel interference.
