Wired Router Huawei NetEngine AR730 Gigabit Ethernet 1U 1400 MHz

The Huawei NetEngine AR730 wired router is a compact 1U rack-mount device designed for stable wired network connectivity in business and branch environments. Equipped with Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, a 1400 MHz processor and 4000 MB of internal memory, the unit provides the performance needed for routing, traffic management and basic network services while occupying minimal rack space. The router has a grey finish, weighs approximately 3.2 kg and supports a wide AC input voltage range with a typical power consumption of 33 W.

Advantages

The AR730 combines a high-frequency processor and ample memory to support concurrent sessions and routing protocols common in small to medium enterprise deployments. Its 1U form factor allows easy integration into standard server racks, while low power consumption helps reduce operational costs. Physical characteristics such as compact dimensions and a lightweight metal chassis make installation and maintenance straightforward in constrained equipment rooms.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business branch routers
• Edge routing and WAN aggregation
• Office network gateways with Gigabit Ethernet
• Secure internet access and basic VPN concentrator roles

How to use

Mount the Huawei NetEngine AR730 in a standard 19-inch rack using the provided mounting brackets and secure it at the 1U position. Connect WAN and LAN devices to the Gigabit Ethernet ports, apply the appropriate AC mains connection, and power on the router. Use the router's management interface (CLI or web-based management if available) to configure basic network settings, routing protocols, access controls and any required VPN or firewall policies. Verify link status and test throughput across the intended network paths before moving to production use.

Recommendations

Place the unit in a ventilated rack space to ensure proper cooling. Keep firmware up to date and follow vendor guidelines for configuration backups and secure access to the management interface. For deployments with higher throughput or larger session counts, evaluate capacity and plan for segmentation or additional devices to meet performance requirements.
