The ES1100-8P and ES1100-16P support IEEE 802.3af PoE to ease installation in challenging spaces such as ceiling or wall mounting. It works with devices such as WLAN APs, VoIP phones and IP surveillance cameras that can be powered by Ethernet connectivity over CAT-5 cables less than 100 meters (300 feet) in length; so there is no need for extra power adapters, and powering the devices installed on the ceiling is no longer a headache. How to use

Install the ES1100-24E on a desktop, wall or rack using the supplied mounting brackets. Connect each device to the switch using CAT-5/5e/6 Ethernet cables up to 100 meters. Power the unit via its mains adapter, and connected devices will automatically negotiate link speed and duplex thanks to N-way auto-negotiation. No additional configuration is required for basic network operation.

Recommendations

Place the switch in a ventilated area and avoid stacking heavy equipment on top. For best energy savings, use quality short-length cables where possible and power down unused ports or connected devices. When deploying powered devices, verify PoE compatibility and power budget if using ES1100 PoE variants.
