UNI-T UT681L tester is a simple but effective tool for quick diagnosis of network and telephone cables. With it you can easily check the continuity of cables, detect short circuits, crossed pairs and breaks in the circuit. Its compact form, convenient one-button operation and clear LED system make the UT681L perfect for the daily work of network technicians, installers or service technicians.
The most important functions in one device
UT681L supports testing of cables terminated with RJ45 and RJ11 connectors, allowing quick verification of connections in Ethernet networks and telephone lines. LEDs (LED1~LED8 and LED_G) show the status of individual cables, allowing you to detect errors such as breaks, short circuits or crossings. Two modes are available - fast and slow - allowing you to tailor the test to your specific application.

The device is powered by a standard 9V battery, ensuring mobility and quick startup without the need for charging. An automatic shut-off function after 10 minutes of inactivity extends battery life, and a low-charge indicator reminds you to replace the battery. How to use
Connect one end of the cable to the main unit and the other end to the remote terminator or plug into the target jack. Power on the tester and observe the LED sequence or indicators to determine continuity and pair wiring order. For RJ45 cables, check that all eight conductors light in the correct sequence; for RJ11, verify the relevant conductor pairings. Turn the device off after testing to conserve battery life.
Recommendations
Use the tester on de-energized cables only. Inspect connectors and cable ends for visible damage before testing. Replace batteries when indicator brightness diminishes to maintain reliable results. For ambiguous results, re-seat connectors and retest to confirm wiring condition.
