The North Face Phantom 38 Backpack - TNF White/Raw Undyed, L/XL

Alpine climbs demand a pack that disappears on your back yet hauls everything you need. The Phantom 38 answers with a 38-liter roll-top design built on a lightweight internal frame, keeping loads stable through technical terrain. Its 210D nylon with Spectra® ripstop shrugs off sharp rock and ice, while the white/raw undyed fabric reduces dye waste. A padded, removable hip belt and breathable back panel manage comfort on long approaches, and the top-loading roll-top closure with drawstring secures gear under a removable lid. Dual ice axe loops, multiple gear loops, side and top compression straps, and a rope carry system organize alpine essentials. Hydration compatible with internal sleeve and port, plus a front stash pocket, internal security pocket, and sternum strap with whistle buckle. Fit range: 48-56 cm torso. No rain cover included.

Tips

Pair with a lightweight waterproof cover for wet conditions. Use the roll-top to overstuff for bivy gear, and strip the lid and hip belt for summit pushes. The undyed fabric may show dirt more readily—rinse after gritty climbs.
