Tatonka Cape Cub L Rain Poncho - Waterproof Tarp Poncho with Backpack Coverage, 1500mm, Taped Seams, PFC-Free

For hikers who refuse to let a downpour slow them down, the Tatonka Cape Cub L offers full-body protection with a clever twist: it's cut to cover you and your backpack in one go. Unlike basic emergency ponchos that flap and tear, this poncho uses a robust T-Cover Tex fabric with taped seams and a 1,500 mm water column, so you stay dry even in sustained rain. The Cub colourway keeps you visible on grey trails, while the included storage bag means it's always ready in your pack.

Highlights

• Waterproof 100% polyamide T-Cover Tex with taped seams
• 1,500 mm water column rating for reliable rain protection
• Generous cut fits over a backpack up to 125 cm front/back length
• Adjustable hood with drawstring and cord stopper
• Press stud side fastenings for easy on/off and ventilation
• PFC-free DWR: no harmful fluorocarbons
• Multi-use: can be set up as a tarp shelter using trekking poles
• Includes compact storage bag (packed size 20 x 13 cm)

In daily use

Pull the Cape Cub L over your head, cinch the hood, and snap the sides shut—you're ready to keep moving. The poncho's extra width (approx. 150 cm) drapes over your pack without restricting arm movement, and the press studs let you open the sides for airflow on steep climbs. When the rain stops, shake it off, fold it into the included bag, and clip it to your pack. Need a quick shelter? Use the loops to pitch it as a tarp with your trekking poles.
