StarTech (2720)

KVM stands for Keyboard-Video-Mouse. A rackmount KVM console is a sliding 1U or 2U unit that installs in your server rack and gives you direct keyboard, monitor, and mouse access to connected servers — essential for BIOS-level troubleshooting and OS recovery when remote management (iDRAC/iLO) is unavailable. StarTech models include HD 1080p displays and bundled cable sets for 8 or 16 servers.

The StarTech USB data blocker (Secure Charging USB Data Blocker Adapter) physically disconnects the data pins (D+ and D-) in the USB connection, allowing only the power pins (VBUS and GND) to pass through. This means your device charges normally from a public USB port but no data can be transferred in either direction — eliminating the juice-jacking attack vector entirely.

Many StarTech SFP and SFP+ transceivers are programmed to be recognised by Cisco IOS, HP ProCurve, Juniper, and other major switch brands. However, compatibility is model-specific — some managed Cisco switches enforce strict OEM-only policies via firmware. Always check StarTech's online compatibility tool against your switch model and firmware version before ordering.
