Softbox Aputure Infinibar PB6 — Aputure Infinibar PB6 softbox accessory

Softbox Aputure Infinibar PB6 is an accessory designed for the Aputure Infinibar PB6 lighting unit. It modifies the Infinibar's direct output into a softer, more even illumination, reducing hard shadows and glare. The softbox is intended for photography and videography applications where controlled, diffused light improves subject appearance and scene mood, such as interviews, portraits, product shots and controlled studio setups.

Advantages

The softbox attachment produces a broader, gentler light field compared with the bare Infinibar beam, helping to smooth skin tones and reduce specular highlights on reflective surfaces. It mounts to the lighting unit without changing color temperature or output characteristics beyond diffusion, maintaining consistent white balance for multi-light setups. Its shape and diffusion material are engineered to deliver predictable falloff and coverage suitable for small to medium shooting distances.

Suitable for

• Studio portrait photography where soft facial lighting is needed
• Interview and run-and-gun video to reduce harsh catchlights
• Product and e-commerce photography requiring even illumination
• Small set or tabletop lighting to control contrast and reflections

Key specifications

• Compatible with Aputure Infinibar PB6 lighting unit
• Rectangular softbox shape optimized for linear LED fixtures
• Diffusion fabric designed to provide even light spread and reduced hotspots
• Lightweight construction for easy mounting and positioning
• Maintains original light color characteristics while diffusing output

How to use

Attach the softbox to the front of the Aputure Infinibar PB6 according to the manufacturer's mounting method until it seats securely. Position the light with softbox at the desired distance and angle from your subject to control softness and falloff; increasing distance will slightly harden the light while decreasing contrast in the scene. Use the softbox alone or in combination with other modifiers and reflectors to shape highlights and shadows as required. Handle the diffusion fabric gently and store the softbox flat or folded as recommended to avoid creasing the diffusion surface.

Recommendations

For natural-looking portraits, place the softbox slightly above eye level and angle it down at approximately 20–30 degrees. For product photography, position the softbox closer to the subject to increase soft wrapping light, and use fill reflectors to balance shadows. Regularly inspect and clean the diffusion fabric with a soft brush or lint-free cloth to maintain uniform light quality.
