tesa® 4600 is a self-welding silicone sealing tape that bonds to itself without adhesive, forming an immediate hermetic seal. The silicone base gives the tape resistance to oils, acids, solvents, salt water, UV exposure and a wide temperature range from -65 °C to +260 °C. How to use

Clean the application area if possible; the tape also adheres to wet, oily or dirty surfaces but cleaning improves long-term performance. Cut or tear the required length, stretch the tape slightly while wrapping it around the object so that the silicone fuses to itself. Overlap each turn by 50% or more to ensure a hermetic seal. For pipe repairs or cable insulation, wrap tightly and finish by pressing the final end onto the previously applied layers to secure the weld. The tape can be applied underwater by stretching and pressing the layers together until they bond.

Recommendations

For long-term sealing on critical systems, prepare and dry surfaces where possible and inspect the repair periodically. Use as a temporary or emergency solution rather than a permanent fix for high-pressure or structural failures.
