SATA adapter FANTEC 2571 USB 3.2 Gen 1A 6G for SSD HDD

The SATA adapter FANTEC 2571 USB 3.2 Gen 1A 6G is an external interface for connecting 2.5" and 3.5" SATA SSD and HDD drives to a computer via USB. It supports SATA transfer rates up to 6 Gbit/s and provides a straightforward way to access internal drives for data transfer, cloning, backup and diagnostics without installing drives inside a PC or laptop. The adapter is suitable for temporary connections, file migration and situations where quick access to a drive is required.

Advantages

The adapter offers USB 3.2 Gen 1A connectivity for fast data transfer with backward compatibility to slower USB ports. Its compatibility with both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives enables use with SSDs and HDDs, while support for SATA speeds up to 6 Gbit/s helps maximize drive performance. The device simplifies tasks such as cloning, backup and data recovery by providing direct access to the drive without additional enclosure installation. Its compact external design improves portability and ease of connection to desktops and laptops.

Suitable for

• Data transfer between internal drives and a PC or laptop
• Drive cloning and system migration
• Backup and archiving of disk contents
• Drive diagnostics and data recovery tasks
• Temporary external storage for SSDs and HDDs

Key specifications

• Interface to host: USB 3.2 Gen 1A (backward compatible with USB 2.0/3.0)
• Supported drive types: 2.5" and 3.5" SATA SSD and HDD
• SATA transfer rate support: up to 6 Gbit/s
• Power: external power support for 3.5" drives (if applicable)
• Connection: SATA data connector to drive and USB-A/USB-C host cable depending on supplied cable
• Use cases: direct drive access, cloning, backup, diagnostics, data recovery

How to use

Connect the SATA drive to the adapter's SATA connector, attach the supplied USB cable to the adapter and to a free USB port on the computer. If connecting a 3.5" HDD that requires additional power, connect the adapter's external power source before powering the drive. Once connected and powered, the drive should be recognized by the operating system as an external storage device; use your file manager or disk management tools to access, copy or clone data. Safely eject the drive from the operating system before disconnecting the adapter.

Recommendations

Use a USB 3.0/3.2 port on the host computer to achieve optimal transfer speeds, and ensure an adequate external power supply for 3.5" drives. For cloning or large backups, use reliable cloning or backup software and verify data integrity after transfer. Handle drives carefully to avoid physical shock during connection and operation.
