Salewa Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX Men's Hiking Boots Black Black UK 7.5 EU 41

The Salewa Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX stands out in the alpine trekking category by combining a traditional suede leather build with a modern, flexible cuff and a precise lacing system that extends to the toe. Unlike many mid-cut boots that sacrifice agility for support, this model uses Salewa's 3F System to connect the instep, heel, and sole, giving you a secure, athletic feel on mixed mountain terrain while keeping weight at just 552 g per boot.

Highlights

• GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining for waterproof, breathable protection in changing conditions.
• Vibram® Alpine Hiking outsole with deep lugs for reliable grip on rock, scree, and mud.
• Climbing lacing reaches the toe area, allowing a precise, customizable fit for technical sections.
• PFC-free durable water repellent treatment on the 1.6 mm suede upper supports sustainability without compromising performance.
• MFF+ footbed with interchangeable layers lets you fine-tune volume and arch support.

In daily use

On the trail, the Alp Trainer 2 Mid GTX feels immediately stable yet surprisingly nimble. The EVA midsole with an 11 mm drop cushions descents, while the rubber toe cap and protective rand shrug off rocks and roots. The GORE-TEX membrane keeps your feet dry during stream crossings or afternoon showers, and the stretch fabric collar allows natural ankle movement without rubbing. The black-on-black design is understated and easy to pair with any hiking kit.
