Dremel 997 Aluminium Oxide Grinding Stone 3.4 mm (26150997JA)

The Dremel 997 rotary tool bit is designed for use on metals, castings, welded joints, rivets and rust. With a shank diameter of 3.2 mm, a working diameter of 3.4 mm and a length of 39 mm, this pack of three bits supports precise shaping, deburring and general-purpose grinding at speeds up to 25,000 RPM. The accessory is suitable for detailed tasks on a variety of materials and fits Dremel rotary tools that accept a 3.2 mm shank.

Advantages

Three identical bits in one pack provide spare or replacement tools for extended projects. The compact 3.2 mm shank ensures compatibility with most Dremel collets, while the 3.4 mm working diameter is well suited for fine grinding and deburring. Rated for up to 25,000 RPM, the bit allows efficient material removal and precise control during detailed work.

Suitable for

• Sharpening small metal edges and tools
• Deburring castings and machined parts
• Grinding welded joints and removing weld spatter
• Cleaning and removing rust from metal surfaces and rivets
• Detail work on jewelry, model making and metal art

How to use

Secure the Dremel 997 bit in the rotary tool collet or chuck compatible with a 3.2 mm shank. Start at a low speed to align the bit and the workpiece, then increase speed up to 25,000 RPM as required by the material and task. Apply light, steady pressure and use smooth, controlled movements to avoid overheating or over-grinding. Cool the workpiece periodically if necessary and replace the bit when worn.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment — safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Work in a well-ventilated area and secure small parts in a vise or clamp to prevent slippage. Match the speed and pressure to the material to prolong bit life and achieve consistent results.
