Reolink ColorX Series P335X 8MP security camera — 8MP PoE/PoE+ outdoor dome

The Reolink ColorX Series P335X 8MP is an outdoor dome security camera that captures high-resolution 8-megapixel color video for continuous perimeter and entrance monitoring. Designed for outdoor use, the camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) to simplify installation by delivering power and network connectivity over a single cable. The dome form factor offers a compact, discreet appearance suitable for residential and commercial settings such as driveways, parking areas and building entrances.

Advantages

This camera delivers detailed color imaging at 8MP resolution, enabling clearer identification of people and objects compared with lower-resolution models. PoE/PoE+ support reduces the need for separate power wiring and supports flexible deployment across sites. The dome design provides a low-profile look that helps protect the lens and internal components from weather and vandalism. Continuous monitoring capability and network connectivity make the device compatible with common surveillance systems.

Suitable for

• Perimeter and property boundary surveillance
• Building entrances and exits
• Parking lots and driveways
• Small business storefronts and outdoor areas

Key specifications

• Image sensor resolution: 8 megapixels
• Form factor: outdoor dome
• Power and network: Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+)
• Video: high-resolution color video suitable for day and low-light conditions
• Mounting: wall or ceiling mount compatible with dome-type housings
• Connectivity: Ethernet network interface for video streaming and remote access
• Operating environment: weather-resistant design for outdoor installation

How to use

Install the camera at a location that provides a clear view of the area to be monitored, such as above an entrance or overlooking a parking area. Run a single Ethernet cable to the camera from a PoE/PoE+ switch or injector to provide both power and network connection. Adjust the dome orientation and focus as needed during setup to frame the desired field of view. Configure the camera on your network using the Reolink management software or compatible network video recording solutions to set recording schedules, motion detection parameters and remote access credentials.

Recommendations

Position the camera 2.5–4 meters above ground for optimal facial recognition and license plate readability, avoid pointing directly at strong light sources, and use a PoE+ switch when longer cable runs or higher power delivery are required. Regularly check seals and mounting hardware to maintain weather resistance.
