The QSW-M2106-4C provides four 10GbE SFP+/RJ45 combo ports and six 2.5 Gigabit ports for connecting various devices and enabling hybrid high-speed networks. With SFP+ interfaces, Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cables can be used for connecting directly to SFP+ devices. You can also use RJ45 ports to connect 10GBASE-T/NBASE-T™ devices through RJ45 Category 6 (or better) cabling. The QSW-M2106-4C is backward compatible with other Ethernet devices.

How to use

Place the QSW-M2106-4C on a stable desktop surface and connect the included DC power adapter. Use SFP+ modules or DAC cables for fiber or short-range 10GbE connections, or connect 10GBASE-T devices via RJ45 using Cat6 or better cabling. Access the QSS web GUI from a connected PC to view the overview dashboard, check port status, configure port speeds and apply Layer 2 settings such as LACP, VLAN and QoS. Apply access controls (ACL) and enable RSTP or Flow Control as needed to improve reliability and prevent loops or congestion. Use the online firmware update function to keep the switch software current.

Recommendations

For best performance, use Cat6 or higher-quality cabling for RJ45 10G connections, deploy appropriate SFP+ transceivers or DAC cables for fiber or short-range links, and group ports with LACP or Port Trunking when higher aggregated bandwidth is required.
