Power supply Dell 305W MSMT APFC WU133 — server/desktop power module 305W

Dell 305W MSMT APFC WU133 is a 305-watt power module designed for compatible Dell servers and workstations. The unit delivers regulated DC output with active power factor correction (APFC) to help maintain efficient and stable power delivery in rack or tower deployments where a compact 305W supply is required. The module is intended as a straightforward replacement or spare part to restore original power capacity and simplify maintenance tasks in enterprise and small-business systems.

Advantages

The power module provides a fixed 305W output with active power factor correction to reduce reactive power and improve overall efficiency. Its compact form factor supports space-constrained installations and hot-swap capable systems when compatible chassis and backplane support are present. The design emphasizes consistent voltage regulation under varying loads and improved thermal performance for continuous operation in server or workstation environments.

Key specifications

• Output power: 305 watts nominal
• Power factor correction: active PFC (APFC)
• Form factor: compact server/desktop module suitable for compatible Dell chassis
• Cooling: designed for forced-air cooling in server or workstation environments
• Regulation: multi-rail or single-rail regulated DC outputs depending on system integration

How to use

Before installation, ensure the system is powered down and disconnected from mains. Verify compatibility of the power module with the target Dell chassis and backplane. Insert the module into the designated bay or slot until it seats firmly and any retention latch engages. Reconnect AC power and power on the system to confirm normal operation and that the system recognizes the replacement module. For hot-swap capable systems, follow the chassis manufacturer’s hot-swap procedure to avoid load interruptions.

Recommendations

Install in environments with adequate airflow and temperature control, keep dust and debris away from ventilation openings, and use the module within the system’s rated ambient temperature. Schedule regular inspections and replace the unit if signs of wear, overheating, or unstable output are observed.
