Philips Lumea Prestige works effectively, easily and safely on a wide variety of hair and skin types. It works on naturally dark blonde, brown and black colored hairs and on skin tones from very white to dark brown. As with other IPL based treatments, Philips Lumea cannot be used to treat white / grey, light blonde or red hair and is not suitable for very dark skin. This is due to the high contrast required between the pigment in hair color and pigment in the skin tone.

How to use

Begin with clean, shaved skin. Use the SmartSkin sensor to determine the recommended energy setting, attach the appropriate treatment head for the body area, place the treatment window flat against the skin and trigger pulses according to the device instructions. For initial results perform the first four treatments every two weeks, then maintain results with touch‑up treatments approximately every four weeks. Follow the guidance in the user manual and the Lumea App for a personalised schedule.

Recommendations

Do not use on white/grey, light blonde or red hair, and avoid use on very dark skin tones; maintain conformity with the contraindications and safety instructions in the manual and consult a dermatologist if in doubt.
